Wind transports sand grains by siltation, as part of the bed load.

Wind is able to transport the smallest particles of sediment, like silt and clay, over great distances and areas. For wind, sand sized particles make up the bed load. These sand grains are moved along by thewind in a bump, roll and jump kind of motion.
