0.25r - 0.125 + 0.5r = 0.5 + r
Step 1: Move all similar terms (r) to the same side of the equation by
subtracting "r" from each side of the equation
0.25r - 0.125 + 0.5r - r = 0.5
Move terms without r to the other side of the equation, by adding +0.125 to each side of the equation
0.25r + 0.5r - r = 0.5 + 0.125
Add similar terms, note that r is equal to 1r
0.75r - 1r = 0.625
-0.25r = 0.625
Solve for r by dividing both sides of the equation by -0.25
r= 0.625/(-0.25)
r=-2.5
