Hey there! To figure out the answer we add 2 twelve times, or, we multiply 2 by 12!

Mutiplication is a simple way to add numbers quickly, instead of saying
2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2= ?
we can say 2 x 12= ?

See? Much simpler!

Ps: the answer is 24

Hope this helps!
