you need to find a common denominator which you get by multiplying denominators. 6/6 *7/8-3/6 *8/8 = 42/48 - 24/48 and then subtract across which gives you 42-24 =18

No because without estimation we get an answer of,
[tex] \frac{3}{8} [/tex]
A better estimation would be,
[tex] \frac{1}{2} [/tex]
Considering 7/8 is close to 8/8 which is 1
And 3/6=1/2
[tex]1 - \frac{1}{2} = \frac{1}{2} [/tex]
