"Frustration-aggression theory" refers to the tendency to aggress when we perceive that our progress is thwarted.

Frustration–aggression hypothesis, which is also known as frustration–aggression–displacement theory was presented in 1939 by John Dollard and Neal Miller who later in about 1941 developed it further. Other people have since worked on it also.
