What are some of the reasons that "doves" opposed the war?

Since Americans were fighting, getting extremely injured and passing away due to war, "Doves" felt  like we should withdraw from to war due to amount of causalities.

Reason: Didn't support the efforts of the war since the Americans were fighting and losing their lives, thus the doves withdrew after the war was taking too long.
