In a federal system, political power is shared. What are the benefits of this sharing?

Sharing the power makes it so all the power isn't all in one person's hands. It is also harder to corrupt the government because there are more than one people to corrupt.

No individual part of the system has too much / more than their share of power, so with the use of the federal system, everyone has equal power.
