Aristotle was very well-regarded, not just by his peers, but Greek society at large too. His opinions were taken as gospel, and funnily enough, he had enough power to change people’s views on other enlightened people. This was certainly an issue though, because although Aristotle was a respected and brilliant individual, his stubbornness and monopoly of knowledge did lead to quite a few of his rather incorrect findings being the status quo for a long time.
