What is the solution to the system of equations?
Use the linear combination method.

3x – y = 4
2x + y = 6

when we add the two equations vertically. we get 5x=10 (3x+2x and 4+6, the y's cancel each other out) ∴x=2. Substitute this into any of the equations and we get y=2

so, x=2 and y=2
