Answer: Rachel is 30 years old and Kayla is 18

Step-by-step explanation:

I got the answer like this:

What plus what equal 48. 24 + 24

So to get the answer I subtracted one from the first 24, and added one to the second 24.

I did this until they were 12 numbers away. This gave me their age.
