Well I'm not a Chinese but according to me you can improve your Chinese by
listen to Chinese songs
Watching Chinese drama
Interacting with Chinese people
Or try to study Chinese with a Chinese person so you'll understand language or the subject on their POV
These things might help you a lot better than sitting in a place and trying to memorize the things
