When living beings eat, fats, carbohydrates, proteins, and nucleic acids are all absorbed. Protein-rich foods and their constituent amino acids are also rich in nucleic acids because cells in protein-rich foods have been actively involved in protein synthesis when the food was harvested. Tofu, soybeans, meat, poultry, fish, legumes (peas and beans), root vegetables, and dairy products are high-protein foods, which are also rich in nucleic acids.
