The Indus people were mainly engaged in farming and animal husbandry for the living.

Explanation:

Due to the availability of fertile land, different crops and corns were cultivated. There was a special crop holding place in each town for the storage of the crops.

Raising sheep for wool and growing cotton for fabrics are also major occupation of Indus people.

At present, apart from farming and animal rearing, Indus people are also engaged in trade and business and services.
