answer:  [tex]x = 18[/tex]

work:

[tex]\frac{1}{3}x + 12 = 18[/tex]  | subtract 12 on both sides, and solve.

[tex]\frac{1}{3}x = 6[/tex]  | divide by [tex]\frac{1}{3}[/tex] on both sides, and solve.

[tex]x = 18[/tex]  | final answer.

hope this helps! ❤ from peachimin

we need to isolate x, so we subtract 12 from both sides

then we get: x/3=6

so now we need to get x alone, so we would multiply each side my 3

now we would get x=18!
