we are given

number is x-14

denominator is 2

so, we can write equation as

[tex] \frac{x-14}{2} =12 [/tex]

Firstly , we will multiply both sides by 2

[tex] 2*\frac{x-14}{2} =2*12 [/tex]

[tex] x-14 =24 [/tex]

now, we can isolate x on anyone side

we can add both sides 14

[tex] x-14 +14=24+14 [/tex]

[tex] x=38 [/tex]................Answer
