The light-sensitive pigment found in rod cells and formed by retinal and opsin is Rhodopsin. 
Retina is the delicate, light sensitive membrane lining the inner eyeball and connected to the optic nerve. It contains retinal. Opsin is a protein that combines with the retina to form rhodopsin. Retinal is an active, aldehyde form of vitamin A that plays an important role in healthy vision and immune function.
