What you have there is an isosceles triangle.  We know this because those 2 sides are marked as congruent.  In the Isosceles Triangle Theorem, if 2 sides have equal measures, then the angles across from those sides have equal measures.  Therefore, angle x = angle y = 35..  VERY IMPORTANT theorem! Remember it!
